Where The Wild Things Are

Many people might recognise Where The Wild Things Are series of decks from Girl Skateboard, but did you know WTWTA is also actually an upcoming 2009 film adaptation of the Maurice Sendak 1963 children book of the same name?

The movie is directed by Spike Jonze, an American director of music videos and commercials, and an Academy Award-nominated director and producer in film and television, most notably in the 1999 film Being John Malkovich. He is also credited as a co-creator of MTV's Jackass.

Besides being a film producer/director, he is also the part-owner of Girl Skateboard. He has also co-directed Girl Skateboards film Yeah Right! and the Chocolate Skateboard video Hot Chocolate but his most famous skateboarding production will probably be the highly anticipated Lakai video Fully Flared.

As well as a collaboration with Girl Skateboard, WTWTA also collaborated with Lakai shoes to come up with a "Where The Wild Things Are" series in their new Summer ‘08 collection. (See below)

The film premiere date for Where The Wild Things Are in Singapore has not been publicized yet but keep your eyes peeled for it!
